ENMORE Park Seniors were able to enjoy back to back home matches - firstly the reverse fixture from the previous week against the seniors from Worlebury, and fortunately the result was also reversed from the previous week with Enmore recording a win by 5½ to 2½.

Enmore’s points were gathered by Pete Farnell with Mark Saxton (7 & 5), John Newell with Kevin Tutill (3 & 1), captain Mike Perry with Tim Smith (2 & 1), Steve Lukins with Jeff Saunders (6 & 5),John Patterson with Pete Hamshere(1 up), whilst Dave Capron with Mike Cavill secured a half.

Next up at home was against the seniors of Long Ashton, captained by a former Enmore member, Steve Wright.

However it was not a winning return as Enmore triumphed by five matches to three, and captain Wright was beaten by his Enmore counterpart, Mike Perry with partner John Rigler by 5 & 4.

Other Enmore winners were Pete Hamshere with Jim Potticary (3 & 1), Robert Jones with Derek Kelly (4 & 3), Jon Newell with David Pascoe (3 & 2) and John Earp with Chris Topps (2 & 1)

This week saw the ladies compete for the Dickenson and Barlow.

In the Dickenson it was Betty Edney who led the way with a net 78, two ahead of Julie Blumgart in second. Christine Hannam's net 76 was enough to take the Barlow honours with Fiona Dobson in second.

The Somerset Ladies County Golf Association Championship was held at Minehead in variable weather conditions which certainly tested the players.
