OVER Stowey go into the 2015 campaign with a fresh looking first XI following the addiirton of a few new recruits.
Ryan Gamblin has stepped up from the ranks to take over as captain of the first XI, with Stuart Duerden his deputy.
Ryan said: āI am looking forward to the challenge of captaining Over Stowey, Iām hoping to blend youth and experience with the ambition of a few new faces we will be competing.ā
Prolific batsman Simon Penny has joined Over Stowey from Stogumber, which will bolster the batting - his experience will also help to develop players such as Jack Rich and Micheal Barrow, who have bags of potential and ability.
The second XI will look to improve on their performance from 2014.
Senior players, who last season played for the first XI, are dropping down to play their cricket in Division Five of the West Somerset League, as juniors move in the other direction.
Captain, Carl Woodley, is looking forward to an enjoyable season and is optimistic that they will improve on 2014.
Over Stowey can now boast a newly laid artificial wicket, plus a bowling machine which was purchased in the winter, to help develop players young and old.
