STUART Sully with 37 points was the winner in the top division of Saturday’s Stableford competition at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club.

It was a close-run thing for the next two places but after countback it was Nat Pepperall who was second and Jon West who claimed third spot after both carded 36 points.

Chris Maggs headed Division Two with 43 points, eight points ahead of Colin Gudge who edged into second place ahead of Ryan Potter after both scored a total of 35 points.

Alistair Johnston was the winner of the Midweek Stableford after scoring 38 points, one ahead of Lee Hellier with 37, while Pete Barton claimed third place with 34.

The Ladies Section played a Cocktail Stableford on Tuesday, where the first six holes were played as greensomes, the second six were foursomes and the final half dozen were played a four ball better ball.

At the end of a most enjoyable round played eventually in beautifully warm conditions it was Fiona Lovell and Margaret Farley who were first with 40 points.

Vicky Davies and Heather Fletcher were second with 39 points, Mary Perrett and Jean Kennedy claimed third place on countback just ahead of Ali McGowan and Angela Hollis after both returned with 38.
