THREE members of Chard Road Runners took part in the inaugural White Star Running Larmer Tree Trail Marathon on Sunday.

The race provided over 2,600 feet of elevation to contend with along muddy trails in the Dorset and Wiltshire countryside.

Bernie Genge and Paul Masters set off at good pace, trading places from start to finish before crossing the line together in the same time of 3hr 58m 12s.

The third Runner in action was late entrant Chris Wadey.

Despite having had only the lighest of training over the last few months Wadey pushed hard through the field and crossed the line in a tremendous time 4hr 12m 32s.

Meanwhile other club members have been continuing preparations for the London Marathon.
