Bridgwater's Scott Laird gives Man United an FA Cup scare
A 47TH minute goal from Bridgwater-born footballer Scott Laird wasn’t enough to fire Preston North End to an FA Cup upset on Monday night.
The left-back galloped into the box to power in a deflected shot off Antonio Valencia and give the League One side a surprise lead at Deepdale.
But goals from Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney ensured it was United who progressed into the quarter-finals.
