Tribute Somerset Two South

Burnham II 0, Wells 22

BURNHAM II were unable to get on the scoreboard as they slipped to defeat at home to Wells.

Burnham started off in very promising fashion and the pack was providing a good platform for the backs to work off of.

It was Wells who exploited the committed Burnham defence to find a gap - their centre slipped a tackle and to score.

Burnham replied with much the same but failed to finish off what was some very good work, when the official called Elliot Donnelly back for a forward pass.

Burnham stuck to the task and were always on the hunt to create opportunities - the conditions slowed the game down for both sides and it was Wells, who at this stage showed the most enterprise.

Following a turn over ball, Wells were again able to exploit gaps in the visitors defence to break in and score.

Burnham continued to pile on the pressure looking for the score that would start the comeback.

Wells ran in another try and Burnham were unable to find a response, as the home defence were quick to shut down any threats.

Stalwart efforts were put in by Chris Warner, Adam Peters, Jake Allen and Lewis Dodge - and despite some promising carries from Wills Conway and Alex Watkin, they could not make the headway to produce the result they needed.
