BRIDGWATER Sports Reserves have booked their place in the semi-finals of the Seward Cup with a comfortable 5-0 victory over North Curry.

Sports spread the scoring around between Simon Caddy, Scott Clapp, Liam Clapp, Adam Wall and Mason Gill, who all got one each.

In Division 1, leaders Bridgwater Sports lost their second game of the season, losing to local rivals Middlezoy Rovers Reserves 1-2.

Matt Fursland opened the scoring for Sports after ten minutes but a goal either side of the interval from Max Cushing and Jamie Tremlett got Rovers the three points.

Morganians beat Stogursey 4-3 in Division 2 to stay fourth; on target for Stogursey were Dan Glover, Tom Andrew and Andy Caldwell.

It ended all square 1-1 between Wembdon and Dulverton – first, Dulverton took the lead with a Toby Cottrell goal, then Wembdon went straight up the other end and equalised, courtesy of a glancing header from Tim Richards.

In Division 3, the top two sides, Woolavington and Sydenham Rangers, met and it was a close encounter. Rangers came out 3-2 winners thanks to goals from Joseph Fitzsimmons, Martyn Milton and Cam Wilkinson. John Higgins and Liam Neal replied for Woolavington.

After a goalless first half between Norton Fitzwarren and Redgate, Redgate took the lead with a Dan Russell goal - but 43 year old right back Jason Earl scored with a rocket of a shot to equalise.

Steve Low headed in to make it 2-1 to Norton but Russell scored again for Redgate to make it 2-2. Both teams had chances to win it right up to the final whistle but it stayed 2-2.

In Division 4, Wiveliscombe beat Bridgwater Grasshoppers 4-2 with Ollie Pryce-Bates netting two and Ash Roberts and Todd Chappell one each – Dan Saunders got both Grasshopper goals.

Only three games survived the wet pitches in Division 5, but still saw an incredible 44 goals scored in those three games.

The biggest was a 22-0 win for The Gallery Reserves against Norton Fitzwarren Reserves.

New Gallery manager Andy Barnett’s team talk obviously worked as the Gallery controlled the game from the start and were six up in 15 minutes. Goalscorers were Jake Croker, with eight, Brad Hayes, Jack Griffiths, Josh Ball and Ronny Robbilliard all scored twice each; the others were netted by Lewis Hodge, Jake Shoemark, Aaron Harbour and Mike Duffy.

The Howes boys of Bridgwater Sports Colts had a good afternoon at Fivehead where Gary scored four and Ed got three to give their side a 7-1 away win.
