A SINGLE pin separates the top two teams in the Quantock Vale Skittles League with Globetrotters holding the advantage after their away win at Stockland Club.

Club started strongly on their own alley to lead by 18 pins at halftime but Globetrotters’ next two hands changed the game when they pulled 35 to lead by 17 and then a further 18 to win by 34; Barrie Buller scored 105 for the visitors.

Second placed Triards pulled 27 on their second hand at the George to give them a 30-pin lead over Dot’s Gang and, although the visitors reduced the gap to just seven, they were unable to maintain the pressure and slipped back to finally lose by 22.

Applecrunchers struggled for the first half of their game against Outcasts and it wasn’t until the seventh hand that Applecrunchers took control by pulling 18 and win by 11.

In Dambusters’ game at the Globe, the lead seemed to change hands after nearly every hand with no-one taking the initiative until R and U’s finally led by 11 on the penultimate hand and eventually win by 12.

Alley Boys secured their first away win with a comfortable 50- pin win over the Wanderers
