TAUNTON Titans entertain Bristol-based Dings Crusaders for a National league 2 game at Hyde Park tomorrow (3pm).

Dings may be languishing at the wrong end of the table but they have put in some impressive performances even though they have been on the wrong end of results.

And with the boot of Mark Woodrow always a threat they will be another tough test for the Titans.

With in the ranks of Dings Crusaders will be two familiar faces to the Hyde Park faithful in both Christian Gervais and Luke Plummer.

Gervais left Taunton a few seasons ago but the large imposing figure of Luke Plummer left the Titans in September to go back to his home team after a change in job meant he couldn’t commit to the training at Taunton.

So with those two in the centre the Titans defence will be put to the test.

With a few players taking some knocks in the away win at Shelford last Saturday selection will be left until after several fitness tests.

But it was pleasing to see Charlie Walker-Blair making an appearance off the bench against Shelford and he came through well.

That is a boost for the squad and with more and more players getting close to match fitness the Titans should be able to draw on the depth of their squad with the tough tests ahead.

After Saturday’s win at Shelford, forwards coach Chris Brown said: “The game was hard fought and to go to Shelford and take points is a definite high point.

“We dealt with a very combative pack who were physical and confrontational. The pleasing aspect was that we transferred a lot of practice from training and stuck to our game plan.

“Our defence was a strong point. We were voracious in defence and had an appetite for putting people on the deck.

“When people are queuing up to make tackles, this has an infectious impact on people around you.

“The scrummage has to come in for some praise. We worked hard this week and this paid the dividends.

“George Cooper and Jake Woolmore were aggressive and we took a lot of penalties in the second half.
