ED Butcher fired home five goals as Chard won 7-0 away to Budleigh Salterton reserves to complete a league double in the Fresha Devon and Exeter league.

Butcher opened the scoring after just five minutes, slotted the ball past the ‘keeper before taking advantage of a defensive slip 16 minutes later.

Budleigh avoided any further damage before the break but three goals in the first seven minutes of the second half killed them off.

Ben Mear cut in from the right to make it three after Adam Tovey had set him up.

Butcher then drove home from the edge of the box from a Don Anjos backheel to complete his hat-trick before Tovey made it 5-0. completed the three goal burst.

Two further Butcher goals, in the 61st and 80th minutes, completed a comfortable victory, in which Under-18 player Lewis Fisher emerged with great credit.
