TAUNTON Tigers Women have retained the Exeter basketball league trophy with a 100% record.
Coach Jim Hartston said: “The success was the result of a lot of hard work on and off the court by the team which had its fair share of niggling injuries and unexpected team changes over the season.
“Tigers have remained undefeated for over two years and this season even improved their points haul on last year.”
Tigers are the sole surviving active senior female basketball club in Somerset.
After 16 seasons, in which time they have beaten all local competition and more than held their own at National League level, Tigers have decided to withdraw from competitive league games but will continue to train for fun on a weekly basis at Heathfield School every Wednesday evening.
New and returning players are welcome to attend. Anyone interested in joining the training sessions should email: jimhartston@btinternet.com
