A LOCAL derby at the Globe saw league leaders Globetrotters quickly take the lead over stablemates Dambusters, pulling 25 pins on their third hand.

They continued in the same vein, not allowing Dambusters to catch up, and finally won by 57.

Second-placed Triards secured their first home win of the season, beating Outcasts at the George by 39 pins.

Stockland Club won for the first time this season at home, beating Applecrunchers by 55, while Dot’s Gang secured their first away win, beating Alley Boys at the Greyhound by 42.

The game at the King’s Head saw visitors R & U’s beat Wanderers by 30.

On Thursday, four teams met in the preliminary round of the Jack Chidgey Front Pin Cup, and R and U’s, who were unable to raise a team in the Albert Chidgey Cup, made amends, leading by 65 at halfway.

Then Wanderers retrieved 43 pins on the next three hands, but were unable to maintain the pressure and lost by 38.

The other match was a re-run of Monday’s local derby at the Globe and Globetrotters continued their high scoring form, pulling 36 pins on the first hand and leading by 63 pins after five hands.

Dambusters could not match their scoring and continued to lose pins, finally losing by 77 pins
