THERE were more games affected by the weather than at any other time this season, with 23 scheduled to be played, but only seven actually taking place.

In Division 1 with top club Highbridge Town not playing, Bridgwater Sports should have capitalised – but Middlezoy Rovers Reserves had other ideas, beating them 2-1.

John Doyle and Jamie Temlett got the goals for Zoy, Matty Fursland replied for Sports who remain in second place.

The top game in Division 2 was between Stogursey and Wembdon, with Wembdon winning a tight encounter 2- 0.

After a goalless first half, Dan Casson latched on to a through ball and calmly slotted it home for Wembdon.

Ian Luke sealed the points with a great solo effort, collecting the ball in his own half and continued his run into the penalty area, passing the ball under the keeper for 2-0.

The local West Somerset derby between Minehead and Watchet Reserves ended honours even at 1-1 with Sam Broadey and Craig Carr scoring for their respective teams.

Morganians have gone top of Division Three after a big 7-2 away win at Sydenham Rangers.

Andrew James was on fire scoring five of the goals, with Liam Tomlinson and Sam Weston adding the other two - Jason Stephenson scored both the Sydenham goals.

Tom Warren scored two for Milverton Rangers to help them to a 3-2 away win at Highbridge Town Reserves - Jamie Wood scored the other and Andrew Chedzey and Chris Farley replied for Highbridge.

There was only one game in Division Four and that was won by Exmoor Rangers, beating Nether Stowey Reserves 6-1.

It was Stowey that opened the scoring with Lee Villis, before Jimmy Baker levelled the scores with a delicate chip over the Stowey keeper.

Sean Meade made it 2-1 with a left footed shot from the edge of the box and Ben Gregory capped off a great run with a well taken goal.

Exmoor went into half time 3-1 ahead and in the second half, young Gregory went on to score his maiden hat trick, with the latter coming from the penalty spot, before sub Dan Rice got the sixth.

There were ten goals in the only Division Five game, as Galmington Dragons Reserves ran out 6-4 winners at home to East Bower.

Dragons looked like they were going to run away with the game after going 2-0 up in the first fifteen minutes – but Bower fought their way back and went in at half time 2-3 down.

The visitors started the second half brighter and when Mike Stevenson was given a straight red for dissent, Dragons were in danger of folding.

Two substitutions changed the dynamic and Galmington tried to keep the ball on the ground and play.

Then, with ten minutes to go, Dragons struck twice in quick succession to break Bower’s hearts for a decisive and well deserved ten-man win.

Danny Skyner scored a hat trick, Jonny Limm added two and Mark Cornish scored the sixth.

On target for Bower were Josh Smith with a pair and Paul Goss and Jack Edwards one each
