IT'S seven games unbeaten in all competitions for Taunton Town as they prepare for tomorrow’s Calor League clash with Godalming Town at Wordsworth Drive, kick-off 3pm.

Since their single goal defeat at Merthyr in late October, the Peacocks have notched up five league wins and a draw to help propel them into the top ten of the South and West Division, and they will be hopeful of extending the run against their Surrey visitors at the weekend.

Godalming are newcomers to the division, having been transferred from the Central section at the end of last season and have so far settled in quietly, winning six of their 19 games to date to sit in the lower half of the table.

Manager Leigh Robinson is keen to recreate the atmosphere generated at Town’s last home game a fortnight ago.

He said: “Come Saturday the lads will be really determined to put on a good display on home soil.

“They really enjoyed playing in front of a bigger crowd for the Stratford game and loved the ovation that they got at the end of it. We didn’t quite click at Clevedon last week so we’re keen to put that right.”

Andy Robertson comes back into Saturday’s squad after pulling out of the Clevedon game through illness but injury victim Rodney Marsh is still missing although there is an outside chance he may return before the end of December.

Taunton Under 18s recorded their most resounding victory in the Somerset Floodlight Youth League this season when they caned Brislington 4-0 at Wordsworth Drive on Monday evening. Zac Ryder and Toby Nicholson scored two goals apiece, including a penalty for Nicholson.

The Under 18s are next in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Gillingham Town for a league fixture, kick-off 7.45pm.
