Enmore retain MET shield
1:00pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in Somerset Sport
PLAYED on the links Minehead course, the annual triangular contest between Minehead, Enmore and Tiverton Seniors was won in fine style by Enmore’s 16 players with a collective score of 344.
Excellent weather greeted the players of Enmore, Minehead and Tiverton for the annual Gents MET shield B team match at Minehead.
The Enmore team returned a total of 46 points against 35 for Minehead and 27 for Tiverton, and the victory allowed Enmore to retain the B team MET shield they won last year at Enmore.
Returning to their home course, Enmore continued their recent good form with a 6-2 victory against Dorset rivals Sherborne.
The recent home match with Taunton Vale was curtailed by torrential rain and has been re-scheduled for October 24.
In the annual Enmore Kinnersley Trophy played between the low men and low ladies handicappers the men triumphed by a score of 4-3.
Wins by Judy Hancock, Penny Parker and Jayne Errington were not enough against victories from Terry Hodge, Bob Kippen, Mike Sullivan and Dave Weston.
Enmore Seniors ended September and began October’s fixtures with back to back matches, firstly away on the Isle of Wedmore course and secondly at home to Tiverton.
The home fixture the following day did not go according to plan when Enmore suffered a reverse by two matches to four against their Devon opponents.
