NORTH Petherton came unstuck at the weekend as they suffered a 6-3 defeat to fellow Division One side Staplegrove.

Grove took an early lead through Jake Quick but Pethy equalised five minutes later through Shane Jolly.

Staplegrove raced to a 4-1 lead before Daryl Murray scored before the break. In the second half Ollie Pascoe netted for Pethy but it was to no avail.

There were a point apiece for Sampford Blues against Bridgwater Sports as Shane Smith grabbed Sports' only goal in the 1-1 draw.

Highbridge Town celebrated picking up their first league win of the season beating Alcombe Rovers 3-0 thanks to goals from Pete Thompson, Ryan Elliott and Mark Chapman.

In Division Two, runaway leaders Middlezoy Rovers took all three points at home against Watchet Reserves as Chris Singleton broke the deadlock with a good goal from a tight angle on 70 minutes.

Westonzoyland stay second after picking up a point against Staplegrove Reserves. James Millard put Zoy in front with a header but a mis-kick late in the game gifted Staplegrove an own goal to level the scores. Matt Evans restored the away teams lead before hard work by Adam Smith paid off for him to get his side back level again at 2-2.

Division Three saw Blagdon Hill open up a four point gap with a 5-0 away win at Wembdon.

Stogursey are still one of only three teams in the League with an undefeated record which they maintained this week with a 7-2 win over Sydenham Rangers as Liam Price netted both of Rangers' consolation goals.

Bottom side Williton picked up a point drawing 3-3 with Highbridge Reserves for whom James Gibbons, Graham Furze and Darren Russ all scored.

Redgate lost 1-0 to Minehead while Bridgwater Sports Reserves had a 3-1 home win over Bishops Hull with Scott Clapp, Mason Gill and Will Pope all on target.

In Division Four, Morganians hit the woodwork several time but still lost 3-1 to Milverton Rangers despite a consolation goal from Chris Reed.

The Gallery produced an 8-0 victory over Bridgwater Sports Colts thanks to four goals from Jamie Evans and one apiece for Craig Thomas, Aaron Harbour, James Gibbs and a goal making up the rest of the scoring.

Rhode Lane Wanderers were indebted to two Ben Patrick goals to beat Porlock Reserves 2-0.

Finally, in Division Five, there was a goalfest which saw Wembdon Saints lose 5-3 despite goals from Tom and Brad Walford and Jack Gardner.

Woolavington were too good for Staplegrove Colts winning 6-1, Simon Coombes scored a hat-trick, Jake Chidgey, Josh Corkett and Harry Taylor all added one each.

There was another goal fest at East Bower where they too lost out 3-5 to Nether Stowey Reserves, for whom Dean Marcheant and Andy Rolland netted twice each and Tom Davison added the fifth from the penalty spot. Jack Edwards, Ash Roberts and George Turner all netted for East Bower.

Middlezoy Athletic and Sampford Blues Reserves played out a stalemate 0-0 draw.

But there were more goals when Galmington Reserves beat Bridgwater Grasshoppers 5-4 as a Dan Saunders brace and goals from Bob Kippen and Lee Theobold proved to no avail.
