Taunton host the first of their three January meetings tomorrow when the opening race is due off at 1.10pm.
The card, which carries a generous prize pot of £42,000, features seven races including three chases.
The biggest race is the Hippychick Novices’ Steeple Chase, a Class 3 event over 2m 3f at 2.40pm which has total prize money of £10,000.
Champion jockey AP McCoy is booked to ride along with other leading jockeys including Ruby Walsh, Tom Scudamore and Richard Johnson, while trainers Paul Nicholls, David Pipe, Jonjo O’Neill and Philip Hobbs all have horses entered.
With 58 horses declared and the weather set fair another exciting afternoon of national hunt racing looks to be in store.
Taunton’s biggest race meeting ever will take place on Saturday, January 19 when the first race is off at 12.30pm.
A courtesy coach departs from Taunton Railway Station an hour before the first race, picking up at the bus station in town shortly afterwards and returning from the course 30 minutes after the last event.
