NEW Foresters claimed their first league win of the season to leapfrog basement club Middlezoy Amicus with a 5-1 victory in Division 1 of the Uxella Bridgwater Sunday League.

Goals from Aaron Chidgey, Brendan Pope, Tommy Chidgey, Leon Aspin and Rob White sealed the points.

Maltshovel extended their unbeaten run to nine matches with a narrow 1-0 win over Grasshoppers thanks to Jordan Meaker’s goal.

Red Tile kept the pressure on Maltshovel by claiming a 5-2 win at Tiger Old Boys as Shane Thompson bagged two goals along with one for Carl Tucker, Sam Godfrey and Jack Taylor. Kyle Winter scored both Tiger’s consolation goals.

An own goal was all that there was to separate Pawlett Rebels and Abbey Moor with the Rebels coming out on top and Blake Old Boys beat Highburn 2-0.

In Division 2, things are getting tight at the top as all our top three teams drew.

Leaders Ramblers were held 3-3 with ROF. Ed Habberfield, Brad Butler and a Phil Court penalty made up the scoring for Ramblers only to be cancelled out by Harry Taylor’s brace and one from Danny Palfrey.

Cornhill and Puriton also played out a draw as they drew 1-1 with Paul Goss scoring for Cornhill and Darren Cooper for the visitors.

Huntspill are still seeking their first points of the season as they lost 4-0 to Knowle thanks to a Rob McKinley hat-trick and one for Pete John.

Two Matt Washer and Ian Bellinger goals helped Tiger Old Boys Reserves beat Flag Old Boys 4-2, for whom Lee White and Martyn Allen scored.

Paul Walton, James Pitham, Ashley Massingham and an own goal saw Huntspill BPH beat Cobblestones 4-1 with Lewis Jordan claiming their consolation.

North Petherton beat Rhode Lane Wanderers 3-1 as Nahum Lang, Jason Mantyk netted with an own goal. Jamie Sellick got Rhode’s only goal
