Burnley’s Sophie Hitchon returns to action again today as she takes part at the Meeting Lille Metropole in France.
The 20-year-old Blackburn Harrier hammer star was below her best last weekend when she threw a distance of just 66.44m at the 12th European Athletics Festival at Bydgoszcz, in Poland.
It was her lowest mark in competition this year and someway short of her personal best of 71.61m which she recorded in California in April.
Hitchon is guaranteed her place at London this summer after twice reaching the Olympic ‘A’ standard in 2012.
