Tennis club seeks members

WILLAND Tennis Club are holding a new members’ night for improvers on Friday, July 25 from 6.30pm.
Membership will be £35 until April 1, 2009.
Improver sessions will be held on Friday nights and Monday afternoons from 2pm.
“Members can play either or both and you do not need a partner,” said Rita Parish, for the club.
For competent and league players, club nights are Monday and Thursdays from 6.30pm.
The club is doing well in the leagues.
The men’s first team are top of Division Four and the second string are fifth in Division Six in the Exeter and District League.
The mixed first team are second in Division Two while the second string are first in Division Three in the East Devon League.
Junior membership is full, with coaching on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
There is a waiting list for next year if anyone is interested.
The junior team have done well in Division Two of the East Devon League this year.
Scott and Amy Roberts are representing Mid Devon in the Devon Youth Games to be held in Plymouth.
