TIVERTON Town are sweating on the future of star striker Owen Howe who is wanted by Dorchester Town.
The Southern league, premier division strugglers made a seven-day approach for Howe after failing to get their man during the summer.
Howe was free to discuss terms with Dorchester from Monday although the player has made it clear that only a serious pay hike would tempt him away from Ladysmead.
Should Howe decide to move on, it would come as a significant blow to manager Martyn Rogers who prised him back from Bideford last summer.
Howe has so far responded with 12 goals so far this term.
The situation will obviously act as a worrying distraction as Rogers prepares the Yellows for the visit of Cinderford Town tomorrow (3pm).
Tuesday night’s game a Bishops Cleeve was rained off.
On Saturday Tivvy battled to a 0-0 draw at Bridgwater Town.
