TIVERTON Town are expecting their largest crowd of the season at Ladysmead on Saturday when they entertain Merthyr Town in the Southern league.
Merthyr, who are second in the table with games in hand on leaders Stratford Town, are scoring goals for fun this season, having netted over 50 in the league already.
They are sure to bring a healthy support and Tivvy are planning a ‘happy hour’ between 12 noon and 1.30pm and will be showing the Newcastle Utd v Chelsea game on the Big Screen.
Last weekend Tivvy travelled to fifth placed Yate Town and came away with a creditable 0-0 draw.
Keeper Chris Wright was man of the match with five very good saves.
Tivvy could have won it though – Owen Howe’s goal- bound effort was cleared off the line with a bicycle kick by a Yate defender who had the misfortune to dislocate his shoulder in the process.
