TIVERTON Town produced a pulsating performance yesterday to record their fourth straight win and at the same time stop runaway leaders Stratford Town in their tracks.

The visitors’ attacking formation left gaps behind for Tivvy to exploit all afternoon at Ladysmead.

Tivvy went close after 20 minutes, James Richards’ vicious free-kick testing keeper Andy Kemp.

The Yellows took the lead three minutes later as Jamie Mudge beat Kemp at his near post with an angled 18 yard drive.

Tyrone Fagan, Stratford’s main goal threat, had already gone close before turning a defender in the 35th minute but he shot just wide.

Five minutes after the break Stratford equalised. Tivvy failed to clear and Joe Halsall fired into the roof of the net from 12 yards.

But within six minutes Tivvy back in front, Matt Bye’s delicious corner being headed home by the unmarked Jimmy Hinds at the near post.

Four minutes later it was 3-1. Bye’s excellent free-kick was met by the head of Mudge who easily beat Kemp.
