WILLAND Rovers may have hit the headlines as the lowest-ranked club left in the FA Cup but the excitement of their run will be put on hold tomorrow.

For the Silver Street club return to the bread and butter of the Toolstation Western league when they entertain Sherborne United (3pm).

Rovers are at home to Maidenhead or Gosport in the fourth qualifying round next weekend.

TIVERTON Town’s inability to make the most of their chances cost them dear when they lost 2-1 at home to Truro City in the Red Insure Cup on Tuesday night.

Jimmy Hinds, who could easily have grabbed a hat-trick, nodded the Yellows in front on 12 minutes as he glanced home Matt Bye’s corner.

Owen Howe twice went close, only for Truro’s Dan Green to level after his initial effort was blocked.

Truro keeper Kyle Moore then saved well from Hinds before Howe had one cleared off the line. But veteran Barry Hayles shot smartly across Chris Wright early in the second half to make it 2-1.

The Yellows return to league action tomorrow when they entertain Wantage Town in the FA Trophy (3pm).

WELLINGTON manager Mike Hawes is hoping his side can kick-start their season as they begin a run of eight home games in their next ten.

Wellington have won just once in the league this season and begin an unusual run of home fixtures with a tough game against fourth-placed Ashton and Backwell – and Hawes is hoping home advantage can help to get the season up and running.

He said: “Saturday will be tough against Ashton, they’ve just beaten Clevedon in the cup and are one of the tougher sides. But we’ve got a good run of games now and hope that can help us get things going.

“We obviously need to get some wins under our belts and this is a great ooportunity.”

Wellington will be without Andy Butler, who is struggling with a hamstring injury.
