Perran hand Camborne shock defeat

Perranarworthal did their survival hopes in County Division 1 no harm with an unexpected win at leaders Camborne.

After Julian Bose and Joe Skinner put on 120 for the first wicket in 38 overs the innings fell away in the chase for runs. Camborne reached 50 for 3 before Tom Williams wrecked the innings to take six for 26.

Perranarworthal 153-9 (J Bose 72, J Skinner 60; D Stephens 3-5, S Harris 3-24, P Berryman 2-27), Camborne 84 (D Mitchell 21; T Williams 6-26, J Skinner 2-17, A Moore 2-28). Perranarworthal (18 points) beat Camborne (six) by 69 runs.

Falmouth seconds good run continued with a 25 run win at Ludgvan, one of their nearest challengers in division two. Falmouth lead by 32 points from Leedstown with six games remaining. Rosudgeon visit Trescobeas on Saturday.

St Gluvias went down to a seven wicket defeat at Leedstown. Matthew Julian top scored with 39. Beacon visit Kernick Road on Saturday.

In division four the title is up for grabs after Constantine lost their unbeaten record with a 41 run defeat at nearest rivals Troon. Constantine lead Troon by just six points with seven games to go.

Troon 209-8 (Mark Jenkin 77no, David Jenkin 44, Daniel Jenkin 20; P Parkinson 4-39, D Griffiths 3-34, Constantine 168-8 (R Weetch 28, R Waters 27; C Williams 3-43, Daniel Jenkin 2-25). Troon (19 points) beat Constantine (eight) by 41 runs.

Stithians gained a 65 run home win over Perranporth.

Stithians 198-9 (B Tann 42, G Furnival 40no, J Teixeira 29; W Morris 3-43, K Gibbard 2-47, J Smeadon 2-66), Perranporth 133 (S McCall 40, P Bachelor 29; M Rodwell 3-33, A Lean 3-29). Stithians (19 points) beat Perranporth (seven) by 65 runs.

Perranarworthal seconds went down to defeat against Chacewater by seven wickets.

Falmouth thirds got back to winning ways in division five with a 65 run win at St Just. Their lead over Praze is 26 points.

Falmouth fourths lost at home to Mount Hawke & Porthtowan by five wickets despite a good effort by Warren Brown with bat and ball.

Stithians seconds conceded over 200 in their defeat at Penzance thirds.

Constantine seconds were beaten by five wickets in their clash with Redruth seconds.

A good all-round performance saw Mawnan race to a convincing jine-wickets win against Helston.
