Penryn RFC and Falmouth RFC have learned their fate for next season after the 2019/20 Tribute Western Counties West fixtures were announced.

Penryn will begin their first season back in Western Counties West with a home game against Saltash.

The match will take place at the Memorial Ground on Saturday, September 7.

Penryn were promoted from Tribute Cornwall/Devon as champions at the end of last season, ending their three-year stay in the division.

The Borough will hope to avoid a repeat of the last time the two teams met, with the Ashes winning 25-22 at the Memorial in April 2018 to pip Penryn to promotion from Cornwall/Devon.

Penryn will visit St Austell and Tiverton in September, with a home game against Tiverton sandwiched between the two.

They will face Saltash in the return fixture on the final day of the season on Saturday, April 18.

Fresh from securing the highest league finish in the club's history in 2018/19, Falmouth also begin their 2019/20 Western Counties campaign on familiar territory, with Tiverton making the trip to the Rec on September 7.

The first month of the campaign will also see the Eagles visit Wadebridge Camels and Bideford, plus a home game against Wellington.

Falmouth will visit Tiverton's Coronation Field for the final game of the season on September 18.

Penryn's promotion will see the renewal of the derby with Falmouth in a competitive match.

The last time the two teams met in the league was the 2016/17, when the Eagles won 13-10 at home and 24-6 away on their way to being crowned champions of Cornwall/Devon.

The eagerly anticipated first match is at the Rec on Saturday, November 16, before the return game at the Memorial ground on Saturday, March 3.
