Falmouth Town will face Mousehole in their first match of the 2019/20 South West Peninsula League West season.

The newly promoted Seagulls make the trip to Bickland Park on Wednesday, August 7.

Helston Athletic will begin their campaign at Newquay on the same evening. Their first game at Kellaway Park will be against last season’s SWPL Division 1 West winners Liskeard Athletic on Saturday, August 17.

For the first time, Falmouth and Helston will be joined in the SWPL Premier by Wendron United and Porthleven this season.

The duo, along with seven of the other nine Cornish clubs in last season’s SWPL Division 1 West - with the exception of Bude Town and Ludgvan - have been promoted to the Premier as part of a major restructure of local football, with the 40 teams in the Premier now split into two 20-team East and West divisions.

Porthleven’s first match in the division will be at Dobwalls on Saturday, August 10, while Wendron’s debut will be at Penzance’s Penlee Park on the same afternoon.

The season begins on Tuesday, August 6, when St Austell host Liskeard and Wadebridge Town welcome Godolphin Atlantic (Newquay) to Bodieve Park.

Wendron will welcome Falmouth to the Underlane on the traditional Boxing Day match day, with the reverse fixture taking place at Bickland Park on Good Friday.

Town had taken on Helston in the festive fixtures in recent years, but the Blues will now face traditional rivals Porthleven, now managed by former Helston men Graham Blake and Jamie Thomson, at Kellaway Park on Boxing Day. The reverse fixture will be at Gala Parc on Good Friday.

Helston instead face Falmouth on Wednesday, September 4, with the reverse game on Saturday, January 11.

Wendron and Porthleven faced each other in their respective festive fixtures in SWPL Division 1 West last season, but they will meet at Gala Parc on Wednesday, August 28 before facing off at Wendron on Saturday, January 11.

Porthleven host Falmouth on Wednesday, September 18 before the return fixture on Saturday, January 18. Wendron travel to Helston on Wednesday, August 21 before hosting the return on Saturday, December 21.

Falmouth, Helston and Porthleven are set for another FA Vase campaign this season, with the first preliminary round to be played on Saturday, August 31. The draw for the first and second preliminary rounds will take place next month.

The Walter C Parson League Cup first round will be played over the weekend of Saturday, September 21, with Wendron visiting Dobwalls while Porthleven travel to Penzance.

Falmouth and Helston begin their campaign in the second round, which takes place on the weekend of Saturday, October 19. Town make the trip to Godolphin Atlantic (Newquay) while the Blues host Alan Carey’s Bodmin Town
