Porthleven 8, Bere Alston United 2

Tornado Bello scored four goals for new club Porthleven as they thrashed Bere Alston in their South West Peninsula League Division 1 West clash at Gala Parc on Saturday.

Dan Hindmarch scored twice while Jordan Adlard and Matt Fox added one each for Port as they ran out comfortable winners.

Bello, making his league debut for his new side after featuring in the Senior Cup second round win over Callington two week ago, got the Fishermen off to a flier when he found the net after just 38 seconds.

The visitors were left in a state of shock as Hindmarch cut in from the left and arrowed a shot past the visiting ‘keeper to double the lead in the third minute.

But they rallied well and halved the deficit in the eighth minute when their striker turned a left-wing cross past home ‘keeper Steve Parker-Billinge.

The game settled down for a while before Adlard restored Port’s two-goal cushion seven minutes before half-time, with his effort from a free-kick taking a deflection before finding its way in.

Port started the second half in a similar manner to the first as Hindmarch added his second of the day in the 48th minute, before Bello grabbed a brace of his own two minutes later.

Fox popped up to claim goal number six following a corner, before Bello sealed his hat-trick with a close-range finish to make it 7-1.

Bello wrapped up the hosts’ scoring from the spot on 83 minutes, before Bere Alston replied with a penalty of their own with five minutes to play.
