The Seaview Old Boys cricket team from Falmouth will take on Helston CC on their own patch in tonight’s Mining Division Evening League final.
The Old Boys won nine out of their ten games in the Central Division of the Mining League to reach the semi-finals, where they beat West Division champions Barripper by 49 runs last Tuesday to qualify for the final.
The pub team has been playing Sunday friendlies for over 20 years with, unlike many other Mining League sides, none of their players playing league cricket.
Last year we decided to enter the Mining League for a bit of fun and didn’t disgrace ourselves, so tried again this season.
They will take on a Helston side who finished behind Barripper in the West Division but qualified for the semi-finals as best runner-up across the three divisions.
They then narrowly defeated East Division champions St Gluvias by four runs to set up the match with Seaview OB.
