The annual Norman Nicholls football tournament takes place this Saturday, June 23 at St. Keverne playing fields.
The tournament, hosted by the St. Keverne Playing Field Committee, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
The tournament is held to raise money for the St. Keverne Playing field, but the main aim is to bring together local schools for a brilliant fun-packed day.
There are three different competitions throughout the day:
The primary schools’ (under 11 years) 6-a-side competition begins at 11am, the under-16s’ 5-a-side competition starts at 3pm, and the adults’ 5-a-side event begins at 4.30pm.
Entry for the under-16s and adults’ competition is £10 per team, while entry for the schools’ competition is free.
Matches for all events run on a league system, so the number of teams entering on the day will determine how many matches each team will play.
Each team must fill in an entry form on arrival to guarantee a place within the competition.
Each winning team will be presented with a trophy and medal at the end of each event.
All supporters are welcomed on the day, with a BBQ, refreshments, raffle and Bouncy castle among the non-football attractions.
