Falmouth United under-15s achieved the perfect end to their season on Sunday, June 3 by beating Charlestown Youth 3-1 to win the Cornwall County Cup at St Dennis AFC.

Despite trailing 1-0 at half time and with temperatures hitting 23 degrees, the team showed great commitment and ability to turn the game around with two goals from Max Everall and one from Jonah Bough, including a sublime 25-yard free kick from Max which dipped just under the crossbar.

Having been drawn away in every round of the competition, Falmouth United totalled more than 400 miles on the road this season – beating Bude, Godolphin, Wadebridge and St Cleer en-route to the final – demonstrating the commitment shown by both players and their parents all season long.

With this in mind the trophy will undoubtedly be a fitting reward for the hard work the team has put in this season.

The team's management duo of Barry Murfin and Ken Popperwell would like to say a special thanks to the team for their performance this season, but also to the parents and supporters.

The winning team in full: Ross Couch, Archie Becconsall, Max Bailey, Billy Daly, Toby Murfin, Max Everall, Stephen Gulley, Elim Sefi, Matt Baxter, Liam Morris, Jonah Bough, Alfie Beard, James Richards, Sam Walker, Jamie Millar.
