The rich history of Bickland Park will be celebrated in a Packet supplement to be published on Wednesday, July 19.

The famous ground - once described as the "Wembley of the West" - is 60 years old and to mark it's birthday, Packet Sport's Matt Dixon has spoken to some of the men that presided over hugely successful eras at the club.

There will be old photographs, press cuttings, action pictures and interviews which capture the glory and drama that has unfolded there since 1957.

Further to the celebratory supplement, a mouthwatering pre-season match has been arranged between Falmouth Town and a Cornish Legends team.

Town played a Cornwall representative side to mark the opening of Bickland Park 60 years ago and next month's fixture, on Saturday, July 22, has been set up to imitate that.

It will be a great opportunity for Cornish football fans to watch some of the best players in the county from yesteryear, as well as former players, managers and officials to get together and indulge in some memories.

Former Falmouth favourite Mark Rapsey has been busy assembling a Legends squad, which will be finalised in the next couple of weeks and announced in the Wednesday, July 12 edition of the paper.

It will also provide a good work-out for Andrew Westgarth's current squad, which has seen a few changes in the close season. Their latest acquisition is striker Tyler Cooke, from Penryn.

Kick-off will be 2pm and will be part of a double header on the day, with Falmouth Town Reserves hosting St Dennis at 5pm.

On Saturday, July 15, Town visit Truro City in the annual Aubrey Wilkes Cup match. Kick off is 3pm at Treyew Road.
