Cornish Pirates’ prop forward Jack Andrew was naturally delighted to receive a cask of Tribute ale for being judged man-of-the-match when his team played Bedford Blues at the end of the season.

The game at the Mennaye Field was drawn, 40-all.

Now, following votes cast for St Austell’ Brewery’s Tribute Player of the Month for April, Jack has also been declared the winner, thus receiving a second supply of the popular Cornish ale to make it a double celebration!

Besides Jack, other players nominated were scrum-half Alex Day, full-back Toby May, and back-rower Jake Parker.

As for the latest presentation, it was made when Jack was spotted working hard in the gym, with the club’s Sales & Marketing assistant Robyn Ashurst doing the honours.

The St Austell Brewery ‘Tribute’ Player of the Month award was introduced earlier in the season, with the coaching team nominating four players each month. Previous winners were scrum-half Stuart Townsend (December), prop Luke Chapman (January), No 8 Tom Duncan (February), and hooker Jack Innard (March). A case of Tribute Ale is also made available each month, chosen at random, for one voter.
