Borough's George Jones scored for Cornwall in their 56-11 win at Devon on, which also saw Grant Randlesome impress.

Cornwall took a step closer to Twickenham yesterday as they comprehensively beat Devon at Ivybridge RFC.

The win, Cornwall's 13th in succession, came after a particularly dominant second half performance when five tries were scored, the last of which saw Penryn captain George Jones plunge over.

The Black and Gold, roared on by travelling supporters who completely outnumbered home spectators, took the lead early on through an interception try from Robin Wedlake, which Dave Mankee converted.

Devon hit back with a try of their own shortly afterwards before returning Cornish hero Matt Shepherd scored a try of his own with Mankee again, adding the extras. Whelan kicked two penalties for Devon before a ten minute delay due to an injury to a home player. When the game resumed, it was Cornwall on the board again through Richard Brown. Mankee converted, and added two penalties as Graham Dawe's men led 27-11 at half-time.

The second half was all Cornwall. Black and Gold were absolutely rampant and it seemed to be a question of how many points they would score. In the end it was a further twenty-nine – although it could have been more with one potential score rubbed off for being in touch. Lewis Vinnicombe, Sam Matavesi, Tom Notman, a second from Robin Wedlake and George Jones' touchdown increased Cornwall's lead ever further. Dave Mankee and Matt Shepherd added a conversion apiece as Cornwall won 56-11.

All eyes are now on Camborne on Saturday where Hertfordshire visit, with the winners gaining a place in the final at Twickenham, most likely against either Lancashire or Yorkshire.
