Penryn may have played only their last game of 2016/17 a month ago, but behind the scenes, a lot of work is already going on in preparation for next season.

This hard work has born fruit already as the new coaching team, headed by Cornish Pirates player Toby Freeman and former Cornwall and Camborne coach Ian Morgan, are delighted to announce their first new signing, Josh Tora.

Fijian Josh, aged 31, is based at HMS Culdrose and is a regular in the HMS Seahawk Navy team, having also previously played for Camborne.

Tora, who can play in the back row or centres, said how delighted he was to sign for Penryn and is looking forward to helping to push the club towards promotion next season.

Head of Rugby Dave Levick said: "I am looking forward to seeing Josh play at Penryn, he is going to bring a wealth of experience to our squad."

This is just the latest in a long line of positive news emanating from Borough after having George Jones and Grant Randlesome representing Cornwall in the Bill Beaumont Cup, along with Jessica Howell and Zeta Penrose playing for the Duchy in the Ladies County Championship.
