Just 24 hours after Penryn pair George Jones and Grant Randlesome played for Cornwall in the County Championship, two women from the club donned the Black and Gold.

On Sunday afternoon, Cornwall Ladies played Dorset and Wiltshire at Launceston RFC's Polson Bridge ground.

Whilst it was unfortunate that the visitors won the game 51-12, the club are incredibly proud that our very own Jessica Howell and Zeta Penrose (pictured) donned the famous black and gold in the match.

Zeta Penrose had the honour of being vice captain and led from the front. She was solid in the set piece and made some incredible runs and tackles. Cornwall captain Verity Waters named Jessica Howell as forward of the match for an impressive all action performance.

After the game, both players were presented with scarves for long service to Cornish rugby.

A third Penryn player, Jess Humber was named in the match day squad but unfortunately couldn't play due to a shoulder injury in training.

Hopefully more Penryn ladies will be representing the Cornwall in the next county fixture against Dorset on May 28 at Bournemouth RFC.
