Helston 38, Camborne SoM 17

Helston claimed back to back wins in Cornwall 1 with a splendid display against the students from Camborne School of Mines on Saturday.

It was a particularly satisfying win given that the visitors are regarded as one of the strongest teams in the division, but Helston proved too strong for them on the day.

A large crowd gathered to witness some great attacking rugby, played in near perfect conditions by both teams.

Wade Toy Helston's promising youngster led the way scoring two tries, before Craig Saunders and Connor Clark soon found themselves in on the act.

Although, it was the talismanic Paul Saberton who really gave the supporters something to cheer. He was a constant threat all afternoon and he ghosted over the whitewash late on himself.

He added the conversions and penalties to take his tally for the day to 18 points.

Helston travel to Veor this weekend for a 2.30pm kick off, while the RBS Six Nations kicks off, with all games being screened live at the club.
