Good morning Packet Predictees - my efforts to guess last week's football matches were reasonably accurate, with one notable exception.

I felt there would be a goal fest at Wendron - 4-3 to be precise - but it ended 0-0 in their match against Liskeard. Clearly both teams had read the memo about the need to be tighter at the back...

This week - snow, rain, hail, sleet and/or hurricane winds permitting - we have another fascinating set of matches to look forward to.

Falmouth Town and Porthleven are both bidding to reach the last eight of the Cornwall Senior Cup, while Helston Athletic face a tough test at home to Exmouth in the league.

Wendron face a long trip to Bude, while Penryn Athletic will be aiming to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat at Sticker when they entertain Holsworthy.

So here goes.....

Senior Cup

Falmouth Town v Camelford - Town have scored 12 goals in their last two games, while Camelford have not played since last year. When they did, however, they won 5-2 at St Blazey, just four days after beating champions Bodmin Town 2-1 on Boxing Day. There could be goals in this one, with heavy conditions likely to be tricky for defenders.

Falmouth Town 4, Camelford 2

Holmans v Porthleven - Port disposed of higher league opposition in the last round, but now Holmans will be gunning for a "giant-killing". Boss Kev Richards admitted that his side were not at their best in Saturday's match at Bude, but they still won 3-1, which is always a good sign.

Holmans 0, Porthleven 3

SWPL Premier

Helston Athletic v Exmouth Town - Helston have had a very tough run of fixtures of late and it doesn't get any easier on Saturday. Livewire striker Matt Buchan starts a three-match suspension, but long-term injury victim Phil Cattran is back in the squad. Another near miss for the Blues, I fear.

Helston Ath 0, Exmouth Town 2

Penryn Athletic v Holsworthy - Penryn clearly have a talented bunch of players, but their recent results have been more up and down than a lift with an electrical fault. To coin a cricket phrase, Paul Murray's men are flat track bullies and although they probably won't hit Holsworthy for six, they will take all the points on offer.

Penryn Ath 2, Holsworthy 1

Bude Town v Wendron Utd - Both of these teams could really use a win and Wendron will take heart from the fact their neighbours Porthleven came away from north Cornwall with maximum points on Saturday. Wendron boss Jack Greenwood took heart from their home draw with Liskeard and I expect them to make the long trip worthwhile this weekend.

Bude 2, Wendron Utd 2
