Helston Ath 2, Falmouth Town 7

TEENAGE winger Ollie Walker produced a splendid individual display as Falmouth tore apart their local rivals in this SWPL Premier goal feast at Kellaway Park on Boxing Day.

The county youth player scored his first goals for the senior team and set up two more, while Jordan Annear notched his first hat-trick for the club as they ran riot in the sunshine.

Helston's miserable day was sealed by the sending off of Mattie Buchan for an off-the-ball incident involving Ed Timmons late in the match.

Walker gave Town a dream start after only three minutes when he smashed home the loose ball after a goalbound Rob Wearne header had been blocked by a Helston defender.

Just before the half hour mark a beautifully flighted cross from the right by Marcello Jones was met by the head of Jordan Annear, who powered it past Barrie Johns in the home goal.

The hosts gained a foothold in the match ten minutes before the break when Matt Drummond converted from six yards out, but Town restored their two-goal cushion when Walker was brought down in the area and Wearne despatched the resultant penalty.

Early in the second half Annear shot wide after a good interchange with Jones, before his brother Tom scored his first goal for the club with a tremendous 25-yard free kick which whistled into the top corner.

Just after the hour mark Town went 5-1 up when Walker left defenders in his wake and crossed for an unmarked Jordan Annear to shoot home from eight yards.

Helston gave themselves a glimmer of hope with a second goal when Drummond headed in at the back post, but shortly afterwards Walker sealed his sensational performance with a shot-on-the-run which beat Wyatt from 12 yards.

With the hosts pushing up in search of an unlikely comeback, Annear then raced clear from the halfway line and rounded Wyatt to slot home his hat-trick goal.

Buchan was then dismissed after the linesman spotted an off-the-ball infringement on Timmons, which left the Town full back prostrate.
