Members of Penryn Rugby Club will have the trip of a lifetime when they step on to the hallowed turf of Twickenham ahead of England's match against Fiji on Saturday, November 19.

Players from the under 12 and 13 age groups will be at home of English rugby during their match against the Olympic champions, as part of the Old Mutual Wealth Series of Autumn Internationals

They have been invited to show their skills on the hallowed turf at an exhibition of O2 Touch rugby prior to the main event at which they will also provide the Guard of Honour.

Excitement is building around the teams as they look forward to this once in a lifetime opportunity offered to them.

Parents and siblings are also heading to HQ to share the occasion as a party of almost 150 cross the Tamar.

With England playing no more than seven home matches each season - and considering the many thousands of clubs and schools affiliated to English Rugby - the prestigious nature of this invite is impossible to under estimate.

Penryn’s commitment to children’s rugby was at the forefront to being chosen, highlighted by the fact that they were one of the first clubs in the country to sign up for the Kids First Initiative, and the ongoing education of coaches, first aiders and others volunteers across all aspects of grass roots rugby.

Helping the teams look their best on the day are various sponsors providing new kit for the occasion.

Falmouth Tyres and Lewis Haughton Wills assisting the under 12s, with Harbour View Restaurant, Baileys Country Stores and Express Garage helping the under 13s.

Our thanks must be extended to all these local businesses to help make the day even more special- if that’s possible.

Joining the teams on the day will also be two members of the clubs under 15s who are Young Rugby Ambassadors who spend much of their own time coaching other young players.
