Penryn aim to build on their win last weekend when they travel to Tamar Saracens on Saturday in the Cornwall/Devon League tomorrow, writes Ben Gilby.

The Plymouth based side are currently on an upward trajectory having won promotion from Devon Two to the Cornwall/Devon League in successive seasons.

'Sarries' have, subsequently only lost four matches in their last three campaigns.

Coach Chris Lea said: "We've had a good week on the back of a home win and although it is still early in the season an away win will show just where we are at.

"Skipper George Jones and head coach Graham Dawe were pleased with the win over Saltash last week, but were quick to point out improvements that can be made and the players took on the key points in training this week. Saturday afternoon will be interesting for us to measure up as more players come back from holidays and injury."

Tamar have recorded a win and a loss, having downed fellow newly promoted side Lanner 3-0 in a weather ruined opener a fortnight ago, before last weekend's 31-20 defeat at Paignton.

Saturday's game will be seen as a chance for Borough to cement a place in the higher echelons of the division.

Elsewhere in the league on Saturday, leaders Pirates Amateurs travel to Saltash, second placed Falmouth host local rivals Lanner and Tavistock welcome Paignton.

The bottom two, pointless Honiton and Bodmin meet at Turfdown Road, Withycombe host Topsham and there is a Plymouth derby as Plymstock Albion Oaks host Plymouth Argaum.
