Godolphin 0, Falmouth Town 3

FALMOUTH produced their best performance of the season in dismantling Godolphin's 100 per cent record in the SWPL Premier last night.

Three goals in 15 second half minutes set up a stunning win for Town, who leapfrogged the Newquay-based side to move fourth in the table.

Recent signing Marcello Jones, the 18-year-old former AC Milan youth player, scored his second goal in as many matches when he scored from close range following a knock-down header from James Ward.

Five minutes later Dan Richardson won a penalty and stepped up to convert the spot kick, before a wonderful finish from substitute Jordan Annear had the Falmouth bench in raptures.

With his first touch of the game, he lobbed the onrushing Godolphin keeper from 30 yards and the ball bounced high into the top corner of the net.

The home side showed their frustration with a series of petty fouls as tempers frayed, but the Town goal was rarely threatened thanks to a resolute back four, in particular the outstanding Ed Timmons and James Ward.
