A group of cyclists made the journey from Bissoe to the Cornish Pirates' Mennaye Field and back on Sunday.

Alan Paver and Gavin Cattle (right) took part in the charity event in which all proceeds will be split 50/50 between

the Saint Piran Cycling Academy and the soon to be confirmed Cornish Pirates' chosen charity for the 2016-17 rugby season.

There was a commendable Cornish Pirates presence participating in the event, which on the day raised £500.

Martin ‘Woll’ Woollatt, a keen cyclist and rugby man, who also happens to be the wordsmith behind many of the Cornish Pirates match reports, led the way and he was joined by co-Coaches Alan Paver and Gavin Cattle, plus team manager ‘Jan’ Rendall.

It was hats off to Alan, Gavin and Jan, because they only arrived home in the early hours following the Cornish Pirates game at Aberavon on Saturday.

Also included among the riders was another well-known figure in Cornish rugby, Redruth’s head coach Steve Larkins.

Anyone wishing to support the effort made by all of the bikers can still do so – for information please contact Phil Westren at the Cornish Pirates – mobile 07817 998879 or email phil.westren@cornish-pirates.com
