FANS of T20 cricket are urged to head to Penzance CC on Sunday, July 10 to experience the county's first Big Bash tournament.

The shortest format of the game - which has developed worldwide popularity thanks to competitions such as the Indian Premier League and Big Bash in Australia - promises to provide a great spectacle at St Clare.

The will be four teams involved on the day - namely the Tamar Tigers, Duchy Dynamite, Kernow Super Kings and Penwith Pirates.

They will feature the best players in Cornwall and will be captained by Matt Robins, Greg Smith, Kelvin Snell and Paul Smith, all of whom play for the county.

It has been announced that each of the winning XI will get a £500 donation to their home club.

The confirmed teams will be announced shortly.

The draw has taken place and is as follows: Penwith Pirates v Duchy Dynamite and Kernow Super Kings v Tamar Tigers.

The winners of those two matches will progress to the final, which will be held later that day.

The event will have a Caribbean theme with steel bands playing on what should be a wonderful occasion. There will also be a variety of stalls, a bouncy castle, face painting and a beer and wine tent.
