FORMER England international Graham Dawe has agreed to a coaching role at Penryn Rugby Club.

The 56 year old, who has guided Cornwall to back-to-back County Championships in the last two years, has joined the ranks following the appointments of Jon Goddard and Chris Lea.

Penryn chairman Alan Mitchell said: "The details have not been settled yet but we will meet with Graham to discuss his commitments and hear what his plans and advice.

"He will bring a great wealth of knowledge and experience to everyone including current players and youngsters. Penryn has been in the doldrums for too long and we want to reward the loyalty of the senior players and put some teeth back into the club."

Dawe, who played five times for his country, was asked by incoming coach Eddie Jones to work with the England squad in 2015. He is on holiday until July 5, after which he will meet Penryn officials to discuss terms.

"We're obviously keen to see him fairly soon but we'll have to fit into his very busy schedule," Alan added.

Players such as George Jones, Grant Randlesome and Jordan Rose have all remained at the club despite suffering relegation to the Cornwall/Devon League this season.

A coaching triangle of Dawe, Goddard and Lea would certainly present the Memorial Ground outfit with an embarrassment of coaching riches ahead of the new season in September.
