A NEW five-tier structure has been approved for the Cornwall Cricket League, following its annual meeting at County Hall in Truro on Wednesday.
The system officially adopts a women's tier, along with Premier, Tier 1 (covering County 1 and Division 2), Tier 2 (divisions 3 and 4) and Tier 3 (division 5 and 6).
As part of the new system, start times and game lengths have changed slightly. Tier 1 matches will start at 1pm and will be 50 overs a side, Tier 2 games begin at at 1.30pm and will be 45 overs each, while Tier 3 remains at 40 overs per team with a 2pm start.
The Premier League clubs also voted in a 50/50 win/lose format for their league matches, dispensing with the previous method which included winning and losing draws. The Premier Cup semi-finals have also been abolished.
For the Finals Day of the T20 cup competitions, pink balls will be trialled.
