Holmans Cruisers 2-2 St Dennis
In the Q Cornwall Leisure Veterans League St Dennis needed two late goals to rescue a draw at Holmans Cruisers. The Camborne based hosts had taken a 2-0 half time lead, but top goalscorer Chris Truscott struck twice in the final fifteen minutes to rescue a point for the defending champions.
Packhorse 2-1 Downderry Rovers
At Blaise Park, St Blazey, Packhorse secured a 2-1 win over the visiting Downderry Rovers. In an evenly contested game, Downderry took a half time lead when new signing Andy Glasgow diverted home a low cross. Halfway through the second period a stunning 25 yard strike from Ian Lee restored parity and with two minutes remaining Mark Place skipped past a couple of challenges and fired an accurate shot into the bottom corner to give the hosts their first win of the season.
Grampound 1-0 Threemilestone
There was another even encounter at Grampound, where the home side overcame Threemilestone with a narrow 1-0 win. Garry Kay hit the only goal in the first half, coolly slotting home after Darren Mortimer’s long range strike crashed back off the crossbar.
St Agnes Bolsters 1-0 Penzance
Another team to secure their first win of the season was St Agnes Bolsters who secured an excellent 1-0 home win over the much fancied Penzance.
