WHEN these sides met in the Cornwall Senior Cup last season, Wendron United came back from Sticker with a 5-2 victory.

They faced each other again in a cup tie on Saturday, this time the Walter C Parson Cup, and yet again it was Dron who came out on top, albeit with a different scoreline.

A brace from Tom Langford helped his side beat their rivals from the South West Peninsula League West 3-1 at Underlane and move into the second round, where they face the daunting task of a Friday night trip to St Austell on October 16.

Inside the opening ten minutes, Charlie Davis' side had gone two goals up as Mikey O'Neill rifled the ball home after Langford set him up before the latter doubled the lead after getting on the end of a Ryan Tresidder pass.

Sticker did what they could to come out fighting in the second half, but with 55 minutes on the clock, Langford put the game out of sight with an edge of the area strike.

Consolation was bagged by the visitors in stoppage time as Sam Kenny breached Ben Mitchell's defences.

Tomorrow night, Dron travel to Penryn Athletic in the league before facing Illogan RBL away on Saturday.
