CAMBORNE will be hosting a charity game on August 30 organised by a popular figure of the game in Cornwall.

'Mad' George Simmonds has set the game between a Camborne/Veor XV and his own Invitation XV, who will play in striking pink jerseys generously sponsored by Mill Autoquip and supplied by Kitworld, to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and the Sunrise Centre at Treliske Hospital.

Simmonds, who has represented Redruth Albany, Illogan Park and Veor during his career which started in 1968, was recently treated for cancer, prompting him to organise the event to raise cash for the charities.

Kick-off at 2.30pm with children's entertainment and refreshments provided alongside the game.

Admission is £3 per adult and free for children.
