STEVE Larkins said he believes Saturday's pre-season friendly against Swansea will be a tough workout for his Redruth side.

The SWALEC Championship outfit travel to the Rec for the clash which kicks-off at 4pm, following the completion of Redruth 2nds v Illogan Park, starting at 1pm.

It will not be Swansea's first visit to the ground having won 12-8 in 1955.

Looking ahead to the match, Larkins said: "The 2015/16 league programme is fast approaching and we have already taken part in the Pirates 10s which was a hard start to the season and had a training match against the Cornish Pirates.

"Swansea who have a long and illustrious history to the Rec and they will prove to be excellent pre-season opponents and will be another match for players to show what they can do before selection for the first league match of the season.

"Swansea will be tough abrasive opponents and, as players and coaches, we are looking forward to hosting one of the most famous clubs from Wales."
